    It makes sense if it was a refurbished laptop. Otherwise, I think you should look for another repair shop next time – the issue doesn’t sound realistic.

  3. It is hard to say without knowing what applications you are going to use. Both brands have great models for all kinds of work, but you should choose Acer if you have a low budget and HP if you are looking for a high-end, gaming laptop.

    We have one Dell XPS 9500 model in our office and it has never been as loud as many bad reviews say. I think only a small fraction of XPS owners have this problem – happy buyers usually do not write reviews or comments on forums at all. The Dell XPS series is perfect for every kind of work, and only a limited budget would make me choose Asus (which also is a good brand).
