It was privatized in 2013 and had more than 100,000 employees worldwide. Known for its straightforward sales strategy, Dell makes desktops, laptops, and various products.

About Lenovo

Lenovo is one of the most popular brands of laptops, along with Dell and HP. Lenovo’s budget-friendly prices and fantastic quality are why most people choose Lenovo laptops.

Lenovo is a company that manufactures a variety of electronic devices that range from smartphones and laptops. Its ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops have been very successful worldwide.

About HP

HP was founded in 1939, and its headquarters are located in Palo Alto, California. From 2007 to 2013, it held the title of the world’s leading PC manufacturer, an honor it retained until Lenovo acquired it in 2013. In 2017, HP had managed to snag the top spot, but Lenovo took it back a year later.

Lenovo vs HP vs Dell Comparison

HP and Dell are quite similar and are better than Lenovo. However, most experts consider Dell is better than HP. HP EliteBook and Dell Alienware are among the most popular laptops offered by the brand.

The HP EliteBook is a replacement laptop with outstanding performance and high-end features that can handle whatever you throw at it, including actual work. Looks are not what you buy with the HP EliteBook.

Although the EliteBook isn’t ugly, the aesthetics don’t take center stage when you’re distracted from how fast it is compared with mainstream laptops.

Compare each brand head to head:

Gaming Laptops

The Alienware series by Dell, Lenovo’s Legion series, and HP’s Omen are three gaming rigs that every gamer has heard of. As we know, RTX laptops are in great demand these days, so all three companies have added RTX graphics cards to their portfolios.

It can trace the light as it travels across the screen in ray tracing technology, giving stunning visuals. Almost all high-end laptops offered by HP, Dell, and Lenovo offer ray tracing technology.

The best gaming laptop, according to experts, is Alienware Area-51m. It will enhance your gaming experience with its fast processor, 64GB of RAM, and top-quality graphics. Dell offers a broader range of gaming systems for those with a tighter budget.

An example of this is Dell’s G3 15 gaming system, which lacks more advanced features but can still perform non-professional tasks. Dell wins the gaming category over HP and Lenovo with its Alienware laptop line.

Business Laptops

Lenovo offers better business laptops than Dell and HP.  For business purposes, ThinkPads and IdeaPads from Lenovo are ideal. There is a Lenovo ThinkPad model for nearly every need for business laptops.

The design of this product and its weight make it a great choice for people who have a busy schedule. Laptops like this offer many features for business users, such as a full HD display and a powerful battery.

In contrast, Dell also offers several laptops for business applications specifically designed for business use. With its intelligent aluminum design and 4K display, Dell Latitude 7410 can offer excellent business performance.

On the other hand, the Spectre series by HP can also be an ideal choice for business users. Overall, Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops are the best option for business users who want an affordable and powerful laptop.

Studying Laptops

Lenovo and HP are affordable alternatives to Dell if you’re a student. HP and Lenovo laptops are a good investment for students because of their affordability and lightweight.

It is recommended that students choose Lenovo Yoga 7i due to its affordability and power. You can use Yoga 7i for various tasks despite being less than $700 in price. The keyboard is practical, and the touchpad is highly responsive.

Budget Laptops

For those on a budget or interested in a competitively priced unit, Lenovo is a great option. Lenovo’s entry-level portable laptops for the market start from as low as $139.99. However, if you want a gaming laptop, it will cost you more than $2500.

In terms of budget, HP caters to every need within its purpose. In case of a tight budget, you can buy an HP Stream for as low as $200 or the Pavilion x360 2-in-1 for around $400, which is comparable with the HP Stream.  HP has a range of gaming laptops around the $2,000 mark with reasonable graphics and a lot of storage space.

However, HP computers are still more expensive. Dell sells laptops through authorized distributors instead of third-party retailers so that you can purchase laptops at competitive pricing. Several Dell budget laptops are as good as their more expensive competitors.

Design

In terms of design, all these brands offer a bit of variety. So, it is up to your preference which design you like. Even though many people appreciate Dell laptops’ simplistic design, I’ve never thought they were beautiful. We’ve seen the Lenovo ThinkPad become successful because it’s a sturdy and simple design.

Therefore, consumers today seek devices with a combination of power and design, with a heavier focus on power. It is worth checking out Dell’s Inspiron line of laptops, too, if you want something beautiful and easy to use.

As far as design is concerned, HP laptops have a standard design. Their models are attractive, and their large trackpad is usually easy to use. Typically, these are black or chrome, and while they aren’t very exciting, they are quite professional-looking.

There are plenty of HP laptops available across the whole market. There are many laptop designs to choose from at HP, so it will be easier for you to choose the one that suits your needs.

On the other hand, While Lenovo has been present in the market for many years, its laptops have not differentiated themselves from the competition in terms of colors and designs. Lenovo’s laptops are usually either silver or black. Lenovo offers better artwork and more attractive designs than other manufacturers such as Dell and HP.

Performance

HP laptops’ performance is very good. Both the Envy line and the Spectre line have the potential to perform well for long periods. However, HP’s problem is their more affordable models, which are more expensive for the specs, and can break easily.

While HP is known for their top laptops, they are also known for their worst models. So, the higher you pay, the better performance you will get with HP laptops.

On the other hand, Dell produces some of the most powerful laptops available. Although they may never quite reach the top of the list regarding customer satisfaction, some aspects of their performance are always above the average.

Most Dell laptops have superior processors that run at a faster speed than some of their cheaper competitors, as well as more RAM. The problem with them is that they are generally not good choices for budget laptops since they typically produce high-performance laptops at a high price.

Meanwhile, Lenovo’s high-end laptops use Intel processors to deliver high-end performance. These devices can handle all of your gaming and video editing needs with this powerful chipset.

As compared to the more expensive models, the cheaper offerings from Lenovo are less impressive. They offer good performance when compared to their prices.

The most important thing to remember with Lenovo is to be realistic when estimating the price of a high-performance laptop. It’s more likely that you will be more inclined to enjoy the casual experience you’ll have with a Lenovo.

Build Quality & Hardware

When it comes to the build quality, I believe it’s fairly apparent that HP lags behind Dell in many areas. Even though they make some great laptops, they’re not as good as Dell.

They mainly use Nvidia Geforce graphics cards in HP Omen gaming devices, but they also use Nvidia Geforce graphics in their higher-end models.

I have been very impressed with HP’s Omen series in recent years, and it is a top option for those looking for an affordable gaming laptop. But in terms of build quality, it is better than Lenovo but not Dell.

Durability

The build quality of Dell is also very good. These machines are much more robust, and they can withstand multiple impacts. I can guarantee you that my Alienware laptop has been subjected to quite a few hits, bumps, and falls, and I can attest to it being quite durable.

A few hits to my first Lenovo laptop convinced me it was no longer worth using in terms of durability. So, in terms of durability, Dell and HP are better choices than Lenovo.

Customer Service & Warranty

Dell provides good customer service in addition to making good laptops. They have customer service centers located around the world. When you have a problem, you can easily locate spare parts. There may, however, be differences in pricing and discounts depending on how long the warranty lasts.

On the other hand, Lenovo is a leading manufacturer of computers and laptops; since it is one of the oldest, its customer service is also excellent. Dell does not offer as many care centers as Lenovo.

Almost all of its laptops come with extended warranties. Dell, HP, and Lenovo laptops typically come with a one-year warranty. The customer service offered by HP is also comparable to that of Dell and Lenovo. So, these three brands are quite reliable in terms of customer service.
